Manchester Mardi Gras Parade 2003

This year Manchester hosted Europride -- an annual gay event that takes place in a different European city each year. Europride lasted for ten days in all, with Mardi Gras on the second weekend.

So here are my photos of the parade on Saturday 23 August. The sun only appeared for a couple of minutes, lighting up the bright rainbow flags that this man was twirling. It was quite spectacular and the crowd was impressed!
