I spend way too much time sitting around in a bathrobe. I think this is because,
as a kid, I was influenced by Jason King.
You make remember that he was the rather camp writer-cum-detective (played by
Peter Wyngarde) in the old 1970's British TV series of the same name. In which
he was regularly seen lounging around in a dressing gown or a kaftan.
I remember I stopped going to cub-scouts because it clashed with the Wednesday
8pm showing of the programme.
The joke among magazine staff at the beginning of the 1990's was that they could
never manage to contact a freelance on weekday mornings, as we were all allegedly
watching This Morning with Richard and Judy.
Now there's a new all-day distraction, with near 24-hour broadcasts of Big Brother
(above) on the E4 channel.
Well, it would be a distraction if this year's inmates weren't all so damn
boring.
