Remember the boiler wasn't working when I got here on 22 May? It had been damaged
by frost over the winter... Well I still don't have any hot running water.
I decided it would be best to switch from bottled gas to the mains and I've been
waiting from the mains gas supply to be installed, which should happen on Friday
this week. Then I have to arrange to have the boiler fitted by someone else.
Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm filthy (only my mind as usual!). Each day
I've been here, I've sat in the bath and bathed using a big bucket of hot water
:-)
Which has proved two things: firstly that it is possibly to get yourself just
as clean, using that method, as it is having a shower or a bath. Secondly, it
has made me realise just how much we all take simple things like hot running water
for granted. I am tired of boiling the kettle :-)
Of course I enjoyed the sheer luxury of a shower when I stayed at my mum and dad's
last week.
PS. As you can see, I decided to have my bits chopped off. Should make life a
lot more easy in future ;-)
