I ended up going out to Canal Street at 11pm last night. Two friends invited me
out. I can't actually remember the last time I was in a bar in the gay village
at night.
We went to Thompson's Arms then Churchill's. The first time I'd been in since
they enlarged it. Everywhere was pretty quiet. I got quite drunk and made a pig
of myself after, with chicken burger and chips. Got home around 3am after fending
off someone who wanted to take me home just for 'a cuddle'. Had some coffee, then
updated and uploaded an entire website! Hmmm, maybe I should go out more often
if it has this effect on my productivity. Not feeling too hung-over today :-)
Miss Noodle invited me out for lunch at an all-you-can-eat Chinese place. But
decided not to, as I don't like the particular restaurant they were going to.
Had an upset stomach last time...
Got an ongoing problem with my PC... Now and again I get a bluescreen with
the message that it can't read one of my drives. It happens with both hard drives
so I think it must the CPU overheating. It never happens if I take the side panel
off the case and leave it that way.
On Saturday I fitted a case fan to help cool the CPU heatsink. Put the side
panel back on (the PC is way too noisey with it off). But then had the same message
again last night. Maybe I need a secondhand aircraft propellor in there!? ;-) NEXT step is to get some software which will show me the CPU temperature, so I
can check whether it is running too hot.
A bit annoying, as I want to run a small server when I get broadband at the
end of this week. Which, of course, means having the PC on all the time.
